Founded in 2003, Charter Equity Research, Inc. is an independent, research-only firm focused on the technology industry. We provide insightful qualitative analyses on the companies we follow with a perspective of the entire technology industry. This gives our clients the appropriate context needed to make accurate and timely investment decisions.
Management Biographies
Edward Snyder has been a Managing Director at Charter Equity Research since 2003. He has covered the wireless, telecommunications, equipment and semiconductors sectors since 1997, originally at Montgomery Securities, then as a senior analyst at Hambrecht & Quist and finally at JP Morgan where he was the top ranked Institutional Investor Technology Analyst in 2002. Prior to Wall Street, Edward spent ten years as a design engineer, initially in high frequency circuits for defense, satellite and radar applications and then in cellular, networks and semiconductors. Edward was a regent scholar at the University of California where he graduated with honors with a BSEE in Electromagnetics. He received his MSEE in Microwave circuits in 1994 followed by an M.B.A. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University where he graduated with honors in Finance in 1997.
Julie Fleischer has been a Managing Director at Charter Equity Research since 2003. Julie is responsible for global business development, customer relationships and equity research product expansion. Julie’s client list includes many of the largest mutual and hedge funds in the world with many of these relationships stretching back more than a decade. Prior to Charter, Julie was an investment banker at JP Morgan where she worked on advising and executing numerous equity, debt and M&A transactions in the technology industry. In addition, Julie worked on over 15 technology company IPO and Follow-On transactions, completing approximately $3.0 billion worth of public equity financing. Julie began her investment banking career at Hambrecht & Quist on the Communications, Systems and Semiconductors team. Prior to H&Q, Julie worked for Merrill Lynch in its Private Client Services group. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
